Priceless Gift for Mother's Day

Mothers are extraordinary human beings. They have been with us since the day we were born. I find it amazing how mothers are able to tend to their beloved children with unique care and love so I searched and Googled "what being a mother means" out of curiosity as I never been a mother myself or have I been? A mother as defined in Wikipedia means "a female parent of a child. Mothers are women who inhabit or perform the role of bearing some relation to their children, who may or may not be their biological offspring. Thus, dependent on the context, women can be considered mothers by virtue of having given birth, by raising their child(ren), supplying their ovum for fertilization, or some combination thereof. Such conditions provide a way of delineating the concept of motherhood, or the state of being a mother." Taking this definition into consideration will definitely not qualify me as a "mother".

As I continued to search on the concept of being a mother, I ran into an article written by Jessica James. Here is an excerpt of the blog that she has written on Huffington Post: "Being a mom means more than having given birth to a child. It’s loving and knowing a soul before you even see it. Being a mother is a gift that is unimaginable to any woman who does not have a child in their life. It’s a connection that is unmatched and insurmountable in any form or other relationship. It’s a love that grows continually, a love that always wants more and better. It’s a blessing, a gift, a relationship that never ends and a love that never dies." The only comment I can say is "Wow!" A mother is truly a precious gift to humanity.

Each of us have an innate mother quality because we have a love that nurtures and grows and we have to thank our very own mothers for ingraining that love on each day of our lives.
